Songs like “Aashiq Surrender Hua”, “Humsafar”, & “Tamma Tamma Again”, add the required amount of entertainment and the scenes keep on rolling swiftly as the tone of the movie is kept light and funny, which is complemented well by the performances of Varun and Alia. While the basic message and premise of the movie might seem a bit outdated but it is shown in a manner that is completely relevant and by sprinkling humorous scenes, catchy songs, beautiful locations, and impressive dance sequences from Varun and Alia. The movie showcases the current scenario that the young women of India have to face on daily basis that hampers their chances of living the life freely and attaining success in their chosen line.

Vaidehi (Alia) then spins everyone with her complex plan for setting herself free to achieve her dreams and simultaneously gets her sister married to her dream man. The movie aptly portrays the women in a positive light and also sheds light over various hurdles imposed by the middle class orthodox mentality that exists in various small towns of India. She is born in a typical conservative Indian family that believes in imposing restrictions on girls and marrying them off in a wealthy after they reach a certain age without even considering about their daughter’s own dreams, ambitions, and life. Alia Bhatt plays the role of a small town girl from the IIT coaching hub of Rajasthan, namely Kota. With impactful performances of Varun and Alia, this film represents and showcases the pleasant results and repercussions of imparting freedom and equal opportunities to women of small town. Produced under the illustrious banner of Dharma Productions which is owned by Karan Johar, this movie is also a fun watch, but in contradiction to its prequel, this film also wraps up an important social message of feminism, that is trending nowadays in the news and media throughout the country. Written & directed by Shashank Khaitan, (who directed the recent box office success-Dhadak this year and the 2015 hit named Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya), Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya is a sequel to Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya which had the same lead pair of Varun Dhawan & Alia Bhatt. Watch this film ,it makes you believe in true love. Overall Badrinath Ki Dulhania is an intelligent film with it's heart in the right place. This film is miles ahead of the first one in the dulhania franchise.

However except for sahil Vaid the supporting cast of the film wasn't strong at all ,the one thing perhaps that was missing in this film but present in the first. The lead pairs chemistry is also what makes the film so engrossing to watch. She gives a first rate performance and you think in awe about how much she has grown as an actor over the years. Īlia Bhatt is not behind either ! She reminds you yet again why she is considered one of the finest actors of her generation. He shines especially in the climax scene. When he cries on screen your heart melts. Even though he doesn't play the quintessential Bollywood hero and his character has some grey shades to it he makes you feel for his character. He is surely a talent to watch out for! As for the performances Varun Dhawan as Badrinath is phenomenal ! He gets every nuisance of his character right. A special mention to Sahil Vaid who reprises the role of Varun Dhawan's hilarious friend from the first instalment. Some scenes like the one in the bus where Badri is wooing Vaidehi and the climax scene are terrific. Here it is the woman who teaches the man the true meaning of being a man. This is one of the fewĬommercial films with a message. You laugh and at times even feel like you are tearing up.

The film is entertaining and full of light hearted moments along with some cute ones. Full credit to the director (Shashank Khaitan ) for making a film which could easily have become stretched ,boring and foolish into a realistic and believable film. He is adamant on getting married to her, she wants to get a job and prove her worth to her family. You are straight away transported into the world of Badrinath Bansal aka Badri (Varun Dhawan ) and Vaidehi Trivedi (Alia Bhatt) ,characters that will stick with you. Review: The film is set in the heartland of India.
